Lawrence Joseph was born in Detroit. His grandparents were Lebanese and Syrian Catholics, among the first Arab emigrants to the United States. He is the author of five books of poems, most recently "Into It" and "Codes, Precepts, Biases, and Taboos: Poems 1973-1993," both published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 2005. He is also the author of a book of prose, "Lawyerland," published by FSG in 1997, which is currently being developed into a film by John Malkovich's, Lianne Halfon's, and Russell Smith's Mr. Mudd Productions. He is Tinnelly Professor of Law at St. John's University School, where he teaches labor law and critical interpretation and theory.

Born in Scotland, Fiona Templeton has been living mostly in New York since the late 70s. She was co-founder of the London company, The Theatre of Mistakes, in the 70s. The company's work had a seminal influence on performance and theatre of the last decades. Her current projects include “The Medead”, based on the life-story of Medea, two sections of which will be shown on Governor's Island this June; and a New York version of “L'lle” (The Island), which premiered for 2004 Lille European Cultural Capital. Her numerous books and plays include “Delirium of Interpretations,” “You - The City,” “Recognition,” “London,” and “Elements of Performance Art.”

John King is a composer and electric guitarist. Mr. King is world renowned for his unique style of composed and improvisational music. Leading companies, such as The Kronos Quartet, Merce Cunningham, The Royal Danish Ballet, and The New York City Ballet have commissioned his work. Mr. King has turned his mix of classical and conceptual music to the world of the blues, creating a hybrid of roots and avant-jazz. He founded The King Kortette, a New Jazz quartet. His work has been presented at festivals like tba/Time-Based Arts Festival in Portland and BAM’s Next Wave Festival.
